Extruded Metals, Inc.
This is the kind of letter that I am most happy to write, because I am taking this means of thanking your company,
specifically you and your dedicated employees for supporting Extruded metals in the salvage operations of important and
expensive casting equipment caused by a nasty metal spill from our #7 melter.
The metal spill was one of the worst in terms of salvage in my professional career in this industry.
We had to call on all trades for help in extracting the hydraulic life cylinder that was fully encased in brass.
This involved saw cutting and removing existing concrete pit walls in order to gain access to the chunk of frozen
metal that immobilized the lift cylinder. Upon gaining access to the chunk we faced the difficult task of removing
enough metal without ruining the cylinder beyond repair. Retrospectively I can state that this was accomplished not
only here at Extruded, but also later at Leitelt where the spilled brass, some 10,000 pounds, was removed from the
cylinder. The cylinder, fortunately, was in salvageable condition, though more repair work was required than we
first expected.
Through the diligent and untiring efforts of the crews of all participating vendors the whole repair job
including reinstallation of equipment was completely done and completed in just four weeks.
And so I wish to express my sincere appreciation of your assistance in solving a rather difficult problem
by responding to our call for help immediately and without hesitation.
Meridian Automotive Systems Inc.
I felt it necessary at this time to inform you that Meridian Automotive Systems is
extremely pleased with the performance of your personnel during the installation of our
Servo Transfer Feed. It is apparent that your people truly understood the time constraints
that we were under and their efforts are appreciated. Unfortunately, I am unable to cite individual
names, but I want you to thank each of your employees on my behalf. It is this type of cooperation and effort
that makes for longer term customer / vendor relationships.
Brillcast Inc.
First of all, let me take this time to thank you for the excellent job you and your company has done for us at Brillcast.
The machine parts that you re-worked for us were completed properly and in minimal time. I appreciate
the response and the professionalism that your company is noted for. Once again, let me say “Great Job & Well Done.”
I look forward to working with you and your company again.
Meridian Automotive Systems Inc.
On behalf of Meridian Automotive Systems, Inc., I would like to thank your entire staff for their
repeated efforts to support our organization. Time and again you have been contacted on very short
notice and have come through for us.
Your organization truly understands the meaning of “Customer Service” to the point of supplying material
and delivering it to a competitor to help us out.
Please keep up the good work.
City of Portland, Michigan Board of Light & Power
Enclosed is a survey regarding Leitelt Iron Works (Leitelt scored highest in every category). I would like
to take a minute and personally recommend Leitelt Iron Works for ANY work that you may be contemplating.
The City of Portland checked out references prior to Leitelt starting any work for us. Wolverine Power stated
that Leitelt has worked for them in the past. One large project (Hydro) that was completed for Wolverine by Leitelt
came in under estimates. Leitelt billed them less than the estimate, a practice that is not normally found in many
companies in today’s world.
I have started several projects with Leitelt with only a handshake, and to date I have never been disappointed.
The work is what I anticipated and expected, no surprises.
When a piece of equipment was taken back to their shop to be checked out, if any questions arose, I was informed,
consulted, recommended, and the decision was left us to us to change the project in any way.
Recently, Leitelt bid on another job with one of our Michigan Municipalities; they were a higher bid.
The municipality contacted us for a reference. I recommended to them to take the higher bid for Leitelt.
At a later date, I ran into the supervisor for this municipality at an electric meeting.
I asked him how their project was progressing. He stated that they awarded the bid to Leitelt at the higher
amount, but was glad that they did. They were very pleased with the work that Leitelt performed.
The last project Leitelt completed for us was a turbine rebuild. This was a major project for us. This
project was completed for the estimate, on time, with quality workmanship.
Again, if you select Leitelt Iron Works, you will not be disappointed.
