In the early 1950's, Leitelt began working with Consumers Energy Company on the maintenance, repair and
rebuilding of the many hydros they have in the state of Michigan.
During the pasty fifty years Leitelt has worked not only with Consumers Energy but several other power
companies and municipalities. This work ranges from simple, on part replacement to complete rebuilds on
hydros of all sizes, fabrication of headgates, taintergates, trashracks and gate hoists.
Leitelt's 90,000 square foot facility, complete with a large machine shop and metal fabrication equipment,
provides and ideal setup for hydro work. Several large overhead cranes and its own fleet of trucks making handling
and shipping of hydro parts, trashracks and headgates relatively easy.
Leitelt's unique approach to hydro restoration consists of sending highly trained and efficient personnel,
using modern technology and materials to repeatedly provide quality jobs in a timely manner, safely and competitively.
